John Legend all set to romance The Governor's Ball

With the 86th Annual Academy Awards less than two months away, the Academy announced Monday that nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter John Legend will perform at its official post-Oscars celebration, the Governors Ball on March 2.

Jeffrey Kurland, Costume Design Branch governor and chair of the Governors Ball, noted the singer’s accomplishments and said in a statement, “John Legend is one of the industry’s most innovative and talented artists.”

Legend received eight Grammy nominations for his 2004 debut album “Get Lifted” and won the awards for R&B album, new artist of the year and male R&B vocal performance for his hit song “Ordinary People.” Legend’s most recent album “Love in the Future” earned him a R&B album nomination at this year’s Grammys. The artist’s songs have also been featured on the soundtracks of films including “Waiting for Superman,” “Think Like a Man” and “Django Unchained. »
