Hey, today I want to answer the question should I choose affiliate marketing over creating a shopify store. This is a really good question. My short answer is to do affiliate marketing, which is way better.

Shopify is a web application that allows you to create your own online store. It's a software as a service tool, this means that you don't own it, but you pay a monthly fee to use it.

The fee is anywhere from $9 a month all the way up to $2,000 a month to run this online store. However, the $9 a month doesn't give you that much and you probably have to upgrade to a more expensive plan.

You also have to pay fees for credit card transactions at your store. Plus you can customize the store, but that costs money.

Shopify is dropshipping and this means you handle all the customer service, returns, shipping and pricing.

Plus, because you are selling physical items you have to compete with all the other ecommerce stores and mostly you are competing on the price. This means the profit margins are much smaller.

Most of the money you do get goes to the supplier, what you do earn is basically skimmed off the top as a middle man.

It's also very competitive. You don't have an exclusive deal with your supplies this means other people could be selling the exact same thing.

If you are just starting out your rivals have more experience and resources to undercut your prices.

Another problem I don't like with Shopify and dropshipping is your at the mercy of your supplier, but you still have to talk to your customer directly.

Any problems your on the hook and you can't fix it. All you can do is hope your supplier fixes it. It's also more difficult to build a personal brand. Your customer is going to focus on the product and forget about the shopping experience entirely.

Let's talk about why I like affiliate marketing so much. For starters all the customer service is dealt by someone else. That is a huge, huge plus in my opinion. Also, the shipping is dealt by someone else.

Plus, the profit margins can be way, way bigger. I'm not trying to brag. But most of the products I sale I keep 100% of the money.

I also have a few residual income products I sale. This means I do the work 1 time and make money over and over again.

Plus a few items where I can make $1,000 - $4,000 per sale. The biggest reason I like affiliate marketing more the e commerce is that it's much more simple.

You don't need a website to do affiliate marketing. In fact a website will just slow you down. You will spent time on things that don't make you money.

I do have a website, I pay $9 a year for the domain and you can get hosting for $3 a month. It's optional, it really is.

You do need an way to send out emails, this is called an autoresponder you can get for $10-$20 a month.

There are ways to partner with someone and you don't need to pay for the autoresponder. You can use their list and their sales funnel to make you money.

That is an option and one I recommend if you are just starting out because it's going to get you paid the quickest.

Both ways you absolutely need education. I honestly, think it's much better to pay money to get the foundation right. It will save you lots of time and frustration and I honestly don't think there is a better use of your money than the right education.

After the education you can do affiliate marketing without any fees, so it's all profit. That is what I recommend.
