Patrick McNulty is an arrogant, annoying boor in his 40s. One day, he is mobilized by his employer. He is thrilled, believing that his frequent contributions to the idea box have earned him recognition. His boss, however, states that all of McNulty's pointers deal with areas of enterprise in which the business is not involved. The one in charge fires McNulty for squandering his time.

McNulty goes to a bar, where he drives away the other clients with his viewpoints concerning a showing off occasion. Bench proprietor requests that McNulty patronize one more establishment.
